Wanting Jesus

Jesus wants us to seek Him, to find Him in the depths of our souls, and to enjoy Him. That is the purpose of our lives. That is "the one thing needful" - to find Him. So forget about everything else. Forget about houses and jobs and families and friends. Put it aside and seek Jesus. Jesus said that we must forsake all. We must devote ourselves to this one purpose - to find Him and to love Him.

Does this means we quit our jobs and seclude ourselves from the world? Of course not. It means that our hearts are His, that He is always before our eyes, that we are always wanting Him. Oh, it does mean prayer. Much prayer. And it does mean sacrifice. And it does mean changing... But giving up things of this life for a deeper relationship with Jesus isn't really a sacrifice, is it?

Jesus wants us to love Him, to passionately want Him while we are walking through the aisles of WalMart or while shopping for groceries.

Jesus wants us to worship Him with all of our hearts while we are standing in line at the bank. Or sitting in school. Or driving the car. Or mowing the lawn.

Whereever you are, whenever you think of it, look within your heart and worship Him.

That is wanting Jesus all the time. And if we want Him all the time, if we seek Him with all of our heart, we shall find Him.
